General description:
The Common Garter, also called the Eastern Garter Snake,
is a non-venomous snake.They are know to be aggressive when
threatened by humans but I find them to be somewhat gentle.
These snakes are common and can be found in backyards, in
gardens, or pools. Common Garter Snakes are great swimmers
and climbers. They are very beneficial killing mice, slugs, and other
pest. Please don’t kill or hurt these snakes for they are harmless.
They are normally a dark colored snake, with a white or yellow
stripe going down the center of its back.
