Habitat: mainly pine woodlands, deserts, and hilly areas

Can be found: Most of the Southern half of the United States

Short description: non-venomous, medium headed, rounded head, slender, rounded scales, rounded pupils

General description:

The Coachwhip is a non-venomous snake. It is found

mostly in pine woodlands, deserts, and hilly areas. They

hunt during the day and catch frogs, lizzrds, birds, bats,

snakes, and other mammals. The prey they catch are

overpowered by snake and swallowed alive. This snake can

be banded or be linear multicolored. Its color varies from

red, black, brown, yellow tan, or a cream color.

    We just saw one of these wonderful snakes in our garden. I came inside and did a google search and your site came up. You really have some great info and I would really like to share it in a lesson with our 3 boys that we homeschool.
