Typical foods: slugs, worms, amphibians, fish, occasionally snails

Habitat: damp, sunny areas with lots of vegetation, meadows, and clear forest

Can be found: California, Oregon, and Washington 

Short description: broad Headed, triangular head, stout, keeled scales, rattle on tail, vertical pupils

General description:

The North Western Garter Snake is a non-venomous

snake. Its coloration varies from grey or brown to black.

It has a white, red, yellow, orange, or blue stripe running

down the center of its back. It also has two stripes running

down its side, one on each side. Its belly color is normally

yellow, brown, or black with red splotches.
