Body length at birth: 5 – 8 inches

Breeding period: June – August

Typical foods: small mammals, birds, other snakes, and mostly lizards

Habitat: Mountainous Regions, and rocky areas

Can be found: Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas

Short description: venomous,  broad headed, triangular head, stout, keeled scales, vertical pupils, rattle on tail

General description:

The Rock Rattlesnake is a venomous snake. Its body color is

typically gray but white and green can be seen in it. It is found

mostly in rocky areas, and forest. When threatened, these snakes

will normally retreat into rocks or nearby brush. They will often

stand ground and bite if provoked.
