Typical foods: Earthworms, small insects, and amphibians

Habitat: wet forest, marches, and damp areas

Can be found: Most of Eastern United States from New Jersey east to Iowa, south to Texas and east to Florida.

General description:

The Smooth Earth Snake is a non-venomous

snake. Like the Rough Earth Snake, this snake

spends its time in dead leaves, and other debris.

The smooth earth snakes coloration varies from

brown, grey, or a reddish color. It normally has

small dots scattered around on its back. It head

is darker than the rest of its body. The belly of this

snake varies from grey, or white, and ever pink. This 

snake is not an aggressive snake, and usually doesn’t

bite. It it did bite it couldn’t cause any serious injury.
